15 year warranty terms and conditions
Acorn Timber Services Ltd (The Company) is committed
to the design and production of premium timber
decks. The company uses only materials which have
been specifically designed for an outdoor environment
and which are appropriate for their intended purpose.The
company is confident that its deck installations
will provide the deck owner (the Owner) with a
deck having a long and serviceable life. This
warranty is offered as an additional benefit and
forms and integral part of the deck purchase.
This warranty does not affect you statutory rights
as a customer.
If during 15 years from the date of installation
(invoice date), the deck proves to be defective
through faulty workmanship or materials, The Company
will repair or replace free of charge on the condition
that:
| The Owner
has used the deck only for the purpose intended |
| Care and maintenance
schedules have been adhered to in accordance
with the 'Care and maintenance' leaflet, issued
to the deck owner on the completion of the
deck installation by the company. |
| The deck has
not been taken apart or tampered with, modified
or repaired by any person not authorized to
do so, in writing by The Company. |
| The deck is
kept in good order and all reasonable steps
are taken to avoid loss or damage |
| Any faults
which occur are reported in writing within
30 days from the date the fault/defect occurred. |
| Any defective
or faulty parts of the deck structure replaced
will become the property of The Company. |
Exclusions
Unless otherwise agreed by The Company in writing,
The Company has no responsibility in relation
to any damage caused by the following:
| Fire, smoke,
lighting, explosion and earthquake |
| Burning ambers,
ash, battery acid, barbecues or heaters |
| Atmospheric
conditions, storm or flood |
| Subsidence
landslip or heave |
| Coastal or
river erosion |
| Falling trees
or branches |
| Fair wear
and tear through normal usage |
| Infestation
by vermin, pests or pets |
| Malicious
intent, vandalism, neglect, misuse, accident
or inappropriate use |
| Mechanical
electrical or other damage |
Dispute or resolution service
The Company is devoted to the highest standard
of customer care, there may however be occasion
when a customer is unhappy with a particular aspect
of the service provided by The Company, or has
cause to complain regarding a warranty claim not
resolved to a satisfactory conclusion. In such
cases The Company will forward any such unresolved
complaints to the 'Timber Decking Association's
Dispute Adjudications Panel' and unconditionally
accept any outcome.
